Non-domestic EPCs are slightly different in that they only give buildings an energy performance rating.
The ratings for non-domestic EPCs are standard so the energy efficiency of one building can easily be compared with another building of a similar type. Non-domestic EPCs also include a recommendation report advising property owners or occupants on cost effective ways to improve its energy efficiency.
The certificate will also show the rating that could be achieved if all the cost effective recommendations were implemented.
You must have an EPC when you sell or rent out your business premises.
If you don't make an EPC available to any prospective buyer or tenant you can be fined up to £5,000
